Periodically people posts to lists asking about CTM, or ask
me why & how & what I use CTM for, or I recommend CTM
to them;, so each time I had to re-assemble a list of URLs or
scripts & text fragments as examples, So here it all is
below:
Why I use CTM :
CTM is efficient on data transfer & connection time,
Important if you are paying for it. On limited bandwidth it
was appropriate: I used to use a modem a long time ago, then
ISDN, then came DSL, DSL I always had with flat rate, ISDN I
think was not flat rate. Recently a friend dropped back from
high speed to low (moved out of city) Maybe I'll travel more
& need mobile USB net sticks, with limited data
contingent until band width throttling. Also, CTM is gentler
on servers than csup, ... so I've always been happy to keep
my feed via CTM.
